This is the chair I should have used

This chair would have been perfect for my tutorial on the 7 step method.
Oh, well! it's finished now. The red paint doesn't look too bad until you turn the chair upside down.
That's when you realize that they painted solid walnut. Sin of sins! 

Lincoln Rocker

Yesterday I got in a Lincoln Rocker (or as they call it here in the South a Gooseneck Rocker.)
This will be a good example chair for me to do my next "How To" post. It's fairly easy to do as the holes are well spaced and it uses medium cane. The seat shape is slightly irregular so there is some challenge in it, but it gives the opportunity to show how doubling strands and skipping holes in the diagonal steps makes the seat work out in an attractive balanced manner. Failure to double and skip makes the cane look bent. Tonight i'll cut out the old cane and hopefully I'll start on it too.
